FAQ

Q: Can you tell me about the packages you offer?

A: We know just how daunting the whole process of wedding planning is so we keep things as simple as possible. We’ve come up with packages that include those things that we know will make the most of your wedding photography experience. We understand that you need to invest in that which is most important to you. Just keep in mind that since your photographs and albums are the only things that remain after your wedding day, you might want them to be brilliant. There are no re-shoots in wedding photography. If your wedding pictures end up anything less than brilliant – they’re going to be mediocre for your children and grandchildren as well.

Q: What do I need to do to book you?

A: Contact us to arrange to meet up at our studio for a chat or we can also offer consultations over the telephone or via Skype. Meeting isn’t essential to secure a booking- all we need is a £250 deposit and signed booking form. Dates are filled on a first come-first served basis and once we’re booked, we’re booked. So don’t wait. Some prime dates are gone well over a year in advance.

Q: What kind of albums do you offer?

A: We utilize only the very best manufacturers in the world. Our exquisite handmade storybook albums and accessories are also offered as a la carte items, so you can pick what you want when you want.

Q: Can I customize the package further?

A: Of course. On top of what our packages provide, we have an a la carte list of items that you can choose, including (but not limited to) a coffee table books, parent and friend albums, prints of all sizes, canvases, etc.

Q: Do you travel and does it cost extra?

A: Absolutely we travel! We have photographed weddings nationally and abroad too. We charge a very reasonable travel rate for weddings over a certain distance from us, and we may also need accommodation. We always discuss this with you before booking and give you a complete breakdown of any costs. Destination weddings are the usual package prices plus expenses for flights, accommodation etc.

Q: What is your photographic style?

A: Terms of photographic style are so misused nowadays that they’re practically meaningless. If our pictures speak to you then you’ll know it’s your style. And that’s what’s most important. If we had to give our style a name, we would call it vintage contemporary fashion photojournalism, which is far too long a title. Our style is all about capturing the real you and the joy of your day.

Q: Can you tell me why we should choose you?

1: Photographs are important to you. You want those from your wedding to be brilliant.

2. Our images speak to you in a certain way – you appreciate how they appear more alive, more evocative, more fun, more… something. And you want that.

3. You want to hire someone who makes wedding photography easy, pleasant, and even fun. But at the same time, you want them invisible most of the day.

4. You think that most photographers’ wedding work looks pretty much the same and you want something better – something more you and not so ‘weddingy’.

5. You understand that the person you hire is going to be an integral part of your entire wedding experience and you want someone who can actually put you at ease and add to the pleasure of your day.

6. You like Canada. (It may seem strange, but we find a strong correlation here.)

7. You can appreciate and love our work. And you like us. (If you haven’t yet met us, you can reserve judgement on the latter!)

Q: You indicate that the personality of the photographer is important. Why?

A: Keep in mind that you’ll be spending almost the entire day (the most hectic and emotional day of your life) with your photographer. You want to feel comfortable around and supported by this person. You want someone who knows when to take charge and when to be utterly invisible.

Q: And afterwards?

A: Unlike most wedding professionals that you’ll deal with, our relationship continues well after you’ve returned from your honeymoon. You may never speak with your florist, dressmaker, caterer or band after your wedding day, but your work with your photographer has only just begun. The album and print process continues for a while. Besides, our goal is to be your photographer for life.

Q: Do you do traditional wedding photographs, too?

A: Traditionally, wedding photography has been pretty cheesy, badly posed and/or boring. So we’d have to say, “NO.” But if you mean do we take traditional family pictures (group shots) in addition to our more lifestyle and photojournalistic work then the answer is absolutely YES. We appreciate the value of and the history behind the traditional family portrait, and while they may not be as exciting as some of our more informal portraiture, they serve an important function.

Q: Do you shoot digital?

A: 100%

Q: Do I get all my photos on a CD too?

A: Yes. We spend far too much time, care and attention on your photographs to have them sat only in our archives. We take them for you and so we want you to have them. Naturally you won’t choose every single photo for your album but you will still want to have them all in some form. If you choose our album-only package we still provide you with a CD of all your photos perfectly sized for making 6”x4” prints, and of course these are also perfect for viewing on your computer and adding to your sites such as Facebook.

Q: This FAQ goes on forever. Does it ever end?

A: Eventually. But if you’re still reading you must be really interested in this kind of stuff and that’s why we’ve provided so much information. Just to make people like you 100% comfortable.

Q: I really want you, but you’re out of my budget, what can I do?

A: See our Gift Vouchers link at the top of this page and let your friends get you something more meaningful than a vase or cutlery set as a wedding gift. We offer gift vouchers that can be used towards whichever package you choose. More details below.

Now your friends and family can give you something that you will enjoy having AND that they’ll really enjoy giving you. Who wouldn’t want to help you get the wedding album of your dreams? It’s your first family heirloom!

Put us on your gift registry. Your guests will simply give us a call on 07832 113973 and we’ll take care of everything. Or they can do it totally online via our website’s secure payment system by clicking on the link below. We’ll send both of you a customised photo gift certificate indicating what your thoughtful friend gave you. Gifts can range from £30 to £300. They can be used towards the cost of your wedding photography package, or indeed this is also the perfect way to get additional albums, accessories and prints after the wedding.
